Mediation
Mediation is the private and confidential use of mediators to resolve a conflict situation, including legal disputes.
Today, mediation has great potential for resolving disputes with authorities, commercial disputes, family disputes, labor disputes, etc. An example of this is the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 16 November 2021 of the Law of Ukraine “On Mediation”, which defines the legal framework and procedure for mediation.
In accordance with Directive 2008/52/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on certain aspects of mediation in civil and commercial relations, ASTEELEX specialists can act as a third party who has been requested to conduct mediation effectively, impartially, and competently.
Our main rule in mediation is confidentiality: everything that happens in mediation is not disclosed by the mediator or the parties.

FAQ
How is mediation different from going to court?
A mediator doesn't decide for you and doesn't take sides. The mediator helps the parties hear each other and find a solution that works for both of them.
Is everything said in mediation confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is our main rule: neither the mediator nor the parties disclose what happens in mediation.
Can we try mediation if the case is already in court?
Yes, mediation is possible even while a court is hearing the dispute. If the parties reach an agreement, it can be formalised in a way that brings the court case to an end.
What happens if we don't reach an agreement?
You lose nothing: you can still go to court or continue the court proceedings. And even without a full agreement, the parties often understand each other's positions much better.
